PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can carry out recording of images onto a recording medium based on image data acquired by a mobile phone without using a memory card, and can carry out re-recording onto many sheets of recording media by a simple operation. SOLUTION: When the image data is transmitted by infrared communication conformed to the IrDA standard, the infrared ray is received via a light receiving element 15 to acquire the image data by the printer. When the image data is acquired, the image is recorded onto an instant film 1001 loaded in a medium loading chamber inside the printer 1, and discharged to the printer outside.
