PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing device which is simple in structure and small in size, and can positively press an object to be pressed in a stable condition. SOLUTION: The pressing device is comprised of a pressing section 15 for pressing the object to be pressed, a load applying section 18 for applying load to the pressing section 15 so that the pressing section 15 presses the object to be pressed, a load transmission chamber 17 arranged between the pressing section 15 and the load applying section 18, and a plurality of spheres 19 filled in the load transmission chamber 17, for transmitting the load from the load applying section 18 to the pressing section 15. According to the pressing device, a specific gravity of the spheres 19 is set almost the same as the specific gravity of a wall portion 16 defining the load transmission chamber 17. Further an elastic modulus of the spheres 19 is selectively set to adjust a pressing state thereof to the object to be pressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
