PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety testing method for a hollow fiber membrane module of a hollow fiber membrane filter device. SOLUTION: A safety testing method for a hollow fiber membrane module is to fill up full of water in a secondary side of a hollow fiber membrane, to send a prescribed gas under pressure from a primary side, and to measure an amount of water which is discharged from the primary side of the hollow fiber membrane to the secondary side after holding a prescribed pressure and the sampling position to measure the amount of water is lower than the center in a horizontal direction of the membrane which is arranged in a horizontal direction.
