<p>An aq. compsn. for the treatment of boreholes consists of an aq. soln. of a mineral acid in which a vinyl-pyrrolidone polymer has been dissolved. The amt. of the acid is sufficient to react with the acid-sol. components of the underground, liquid-contg. formation. The formation is esp. a hydrocarbon-bearing formation. The treatment increases the permeability and porosity of formations contg. acid-sol. components, with or without water-sensitive clay or shale components. The liquid yield in a secondary recovery process is improved.</p> |
