<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing gradation-density control optimal for each image mode when the gradation-density characteristics of C, M and Y are matched to the gradation-density characteristics of K in which a color desired by a user can be reproduced at all times regardless of environmental variation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises an image forming means P for forming patches 64 and 65 on a transfer material 11, a means 42 for detecting the chromaticity of the patches 64 and 65, a control means for forming correction tables T140, T141 and T142 based on the chromaticity 42, and a means 132 for correcting the image forming conditions by converting image data according to the correction tables T140, T141 and T142 wherein the control means forms the correction tables T140, T141 and T142 for each image processing mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
