<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new vegetable virus vector and a method for the expression of vegetable gene. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides a vegetable virus vector produced by depleting a part of the 2b region of the RNA2 molecule of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), the vegetable virus vector produced by depleting the region from the StuI site to the stop codon of 2b ORF of pCY2 which is an infective clone of CMV-Y RNA2, and a method for the expression of a gene of a vegetable by transferring an exogenote to the vegetable using the recombinant gene to stably express the exogenote.
