Furnace, particularly a blast furnace provided in known manner with a double wall oven part of its external surface, forming a closed space for a non-pressurised cooling liquid circulation system, with a reservoir situated above the double wall for the separation of vaporised liquid from the cooling mixture and connected with the top and bottom ends of the double wall chamber but having the reservoir directly connected to the top end of the double wall chamber which is divided into two compartments in open connection with each other at the top and bottom ends of that chamber, by a partition parallel to the outer surface of the furnace.
