The new cpds are of formula (I) in which R is H, OH or SH, R1 is H, Me or Et and n is 1 to 4. (I) increase heart output with simultaneous moderate vasodilation. There is increased flow through the blood vessels but the blood pressure and cardiac frequency remain unchanged.
