<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter of a shunt system for reducing the necessity of re-restoration and/or replacement, by minimizing or eliminating risk of blocking up a hole of the catheter. <P>SOLUTION: This catheter has a plurality of fluid inlet ports formed, so as to communicate with a lumen of the catheter. One or a plurality of fluid inlet ports include a fluid impermeable barrier extending over the ports. In a suitable embodiment, a series of conductor members are incorporated into a wall part of the catheter, and the respective barriers are connected to a control unit. When the catheter is blocked up, an external motive power source uninvasively operates the control unit, and sends an electric current, so as to remove one or a plurality of barriers by melting or the other method, and thereby, can make fluid flow again in the catheter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
