LASER BEAM MACHINING METHOD AND LASER BEAM MACHINING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the cutting speed and to satisfactorily secure the quality of the cutting face by efficiently feeding a suitable amount of assist gas to the cutting face.

SOLUTION: The laser machining device comprises a first nozzle 16 (assist gas spray nozzle) applying a laser beam L to the machining face of a steel sheet 1 and further spraying assist gas G1 along the optical axis thereof. The device is further provided with second nozzles 18 (diffusion suppression gas flow forming nozzles) spraying support gas G2 separately from the assist gas G1 to the positions at the outsides in the radial direction, with respect to the spraying position of the assist gas G1 in the surface of the working face as the center.
