ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR AND BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor and a battery employing a case formed of an insulating resin or thermoplastic plastic in which the possibility of leakage of electrolyte and external intrusion of moisture is reduced. SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor is provided with a first terminal member 4 and a second terminal member 5 penetrating a case 1 and extending to the outside thereof. The part of the first terminal member 4 buried in the wall part of the case 1 and extending to the outside of the case 1 is connected with the case 1 through a layer 11 of a resin exhibiting higher adhesion to the first terminal member 4 than the above-mentioned resin or thermoplastic plastic. The part of the second terminal member 5 buried in the wall part of the case 1 and extending to the outside of the case 1 is connected with the case 1 through a layer 12 of resin exhibiting higher adhesion to the second terminal member 5 than the above-mentioned resin or thermoplastic plastic.
