PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for inspecting a display panel, which exclusively occupies only a small space, which has simple structure, and which can be realized at a low price, and to provide a method therefor. SOLUTION: A turntable 700 can switch a first and a second surfaces for placing a display panel, toward a front part (facing part) and an upper part. A fixing table 600 supports the turntable 700 to be freely rotated around the central rotational axis. A Z-axis driving mechanism 500 moves the fixing table 600 in a forward direction toward the front part (facing part) and in a backward direction receding from the front part (facing part). When the fixing table is moved to the forward prescribed position by the Z-axis driving mechanism, a probe unit 300 is connected to the display panel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
