PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a buffer device capable of efficiently processing image data even when image data with various resolutions are inputted. SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus is constituted of: an imaging means which is capable of imaging image data with various resolutions; an image processing module which processes the image data; and a buffer storage device which is disposed between the imaging means and the image processing module, has a function for converting the data length of image data to be inputted from the imaging means, and outputs image data after conversion to the image processing module. In the imaging apparatus, the rate of conversion of the data length is determined by the resolution of the image data to be inputted and the processing speed of the image processing module.
