PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound echo suppressing device capable of maintaining echo suppression capability even in a double talk state under environment with background noise, and to provide speech communication equipment. SOLUTION: The sound echo suppressing device is provided with a voice inputting and outputting part 10 for inputting speaker voice and outputting a far end signal as voice and an echo suppressing part 30 for suppressing a sound echo that occurs in a near end signal. The voice inputting and outputting part 10 includes a near end signal converting part 11 and a far end voice converting part 12, and the echo suppressing part 30 includes a pseudo echo generating part 31 for generating a pseudo echo from the far end signal, an echo-suppressed near end signal outputting part 32 for subtracting the pseudo echo from the near end signal and outputting an echo-suppressed near end signal, and a correction value calculating part 33 for calculating a correction value for correcting the pseudo echo generation characteristic of the pseudo echo generating part 31 on the basis of the far end signal, the near end signal, and the echo-suppressed near end signal.
