PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of image quality at the time of preparing a bridge clip for the auxiliary AV data compression-encoded with high compressibility on the basis of the main line AV data. SOLUTION: The main line AV data of a high resolution and the auxiliary AV data compression-encoded with higher compressibility corresponding to the main line AV data are recorded in a disk. On the basis of the edited result of the AV data recorded in the disk, at the time of judging that buffer underflow is generated and it is too late for reproduction at the time of seeking from a specified OUT point to the next IN point in the auxiliary AV data, the bridge clip is prepared so as to shorten the seek time. At the time, the corresponding reproduction range of the main line AV data is compression-encoded by the compression encoding system of the auxiliary AV data and the bridge clip of the auxiliary AV data is prepared. Compared to the case of preparing the bridge clip for the auxiliary AV data from the auxiliary AV data themselves, the bridge clip is prepared with a higher image quality.
