PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust-emission control device for controlling exhaust emission satisfactorily by surely bringing the exhaust emission in contact with plasma. SOLUTION: The exhaust-emission control device 1 for controlling exhaust emission by utilization of plasma is placed in the inside of an exhaust pipe L for passing the exhaust gas, and provided with a funnel-shaped 1st electrode 10 and a rodlike 2nd electrode 20. The 1st electrode 10 comprises a cone part 11 in which the aperture area is gradually decreased from the upstream to the downstream in the direction of the exhaust gas flow. The 2nd electrode 20 used in a pair with the 1st electrode 10 is placed downstream of the electrode 10. The distance between the downstream end of the 1st electrode 10 and the tip end of the 2nd electrode 20 is in the range of about -50 to 100 mm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
