PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel timbering structure and a tunnel timbering method for reducing a construction cost and a construction period without dangerous work. SOLUTION: In the tunnel timbering structure in excavation of an upper half 1, an upper half steel timbering 4 is installed at the inner periphery of the tunnel upper half 1. Both leg parts of the upper half steel timbering 4 are respectively provided with detachable upper half joint parts 6, and the end parts of an upper half temporary invert strut 5 are joined to the respective upper half joint parts 6. In the tunnel timbering structure in lower half and invert excavation, the respective upper half joint parts 6 and the upper half temporary invert strut 5 joined to both leg parts of the upper half steel timbering 4 are removed, and the upper parts of a lower half steel timbering 8 are joined to both leg parts of the upper half steel timbering 4.
