PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder having a constitution capable of preventing occurrence of noise during feeding, and a feed failure by change of a facing state of a member for feeding sheet materials one by one to a feed roller. SOLUTION: The sheet feeder comprises a feed roller 12 rotatable in the feeding direction of the highest one of the sheet materials on a placed plate 11A. The sheet feeder comprises an inclined member 13 that is arranged contactably/separately with/from part of the peripheral surface of the feed roller 12, has an inclined surface 13B for moving the fed sheet materials toward the part of the peripheral surface of the feed roller 12 and an abutting part 13D that is formed continuously to the inclined surface 13B and can form a nip section of the sheet materials by abutting on the outer peripheral surface of the feed roller 12, and is supported slidably in the normal line direction of the feed roller 12. The inclined member 13 or a support section 102 thereof is provided with constitutions 13G and 13G' for regulating movement of the inclined member 13 in the tangential direction of the feed roller 12.
