The subject-matter is the same as that of the main Specification 1,261,471, except that the acceleration-responsive control is omitted, the automatic parameters being now solely throttlesetting and output speed. The claims are directed to the feature that, in the absence of electrical control supply, either due to failure, or intentional switch-off, the manual ranging valve gives invariable first, second and third ratios in the settings L, 2 and D respectively, this being due to the arrangement of the hydraulic circuit, and to the fact that the automatic 1-2 and 2-3 solenoid shift-valves are downshifted by energizing their solenoids and are upshifted by springs when their solenoids are de-energized, either by the automatic control circuit or by absence of electrical supply. |
