The device for the panelling of side walls of vehicles has a mobile frame (1) with several vertical, pivotably mounted pillars (3) on which are fastened horizontally extending rails (5). Pressure plates (8) in one or more sections are fastened to the rail and means are provided for the fastening of a wall panel to the pressure plate. Clamping devices (6,7) are provided for the clamping of the device to the upper side and lower side of the vehicle (11). The rails have means (9) to exert a pressure force on the pressure plate. An independent claim is included for a method for the panelling of side walls of especially touring vehicles and caravans whereby pressure exerted on a wall panel is distributed over its surfaces by mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic means.
