<p>The present invention concerns a drive method and apparatus with a large reduction ratio for speed change and torque augmentation even up to thousands times. The present apparatus includes a case, a double planetary gear, a stationary gear and a rotatable gear engaging with the double planetary gear respectively. The two gears on both sides of the double planetary gear have different modules and pitch diameters. With regard to the present invention, the speed ratio between the prime mover and the output shaft mainly depends on the difference of radius between two gears of the double planetary gear. The drive method and apparatus of the prevent invention can be widely used in various mechanical transmissions for changing the speed of the prime mover to a desired value, and it has advantages of possessing a large reduction ratio, high efficiency, as well as a great output torque.</p> |
