<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cleaning efficiency in a diffusing member. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a photoreceptor drum 21 rotating around the shaft of its own, a transfer roller 29 for forming a nip part by abutting on the drum 21, a rotating brush 35 abutting on the drum 21 on a more downstream side in a rotating direction than the roller 29, and a transfer voltage application circuit 30 for applying voltage having a reverse polarity (the same polarity as transfer voltage) to the electrification polarity of toner to the roller 29 so as to electrify the drum 21 in a period when no recording paper exists at the nip part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
