<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent efficiently a voltage drop due to the delay of temperature rises in end-side generating cells and improve, particularly, low temperature starting characteristics by a simple and economical structure. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell stack 10 comprises a laminated body 14 laminating a plurality of generating cells 12, and the laminated body 14 has the generating cells 12 arranged at both end sides in a laminating direction as the end-side generating cell 12a. The end-side generating cell 12a is structured same as the generating cell 12 and comprises an electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 52 and first and second metal separators 24, 26 for interposing the electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 52 between.
