PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta colorant particularly suitably used in a phase transition ink.

SOLUTION: A compound is presented by formulae (1) to (4) (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, a, b, c, d, Y, Q, Q-, A, and CA are as defined in the specification). This compound is preferably used as a magenta colorant in a phase transition ink and has desirable thermal stability and the like.
