PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the feed interval of sheets without any increase in sheet transport speed.
SOLUTION: In this sheet feeder, a sheet feed part 50 for feeding a sheet from a sheet tray is positioned in a retreat position A separated at a predetermined distance from a document on a document tray 19 before and after a series of documents are fed out. At the time of feeding a document in the course of feeding a series of documents, the part 50 is positioned in a feeding position C for coming into contact with a document to feed the document. Before the start of feeding the next document after the document is fed in the course of feeding a series of documents, the part 50 is positioned in a standby position B near above the height H of documents of the maximum loading number on the document tray 19. Thus, the moving (reciprocating) distance of the sheet feed part 50 in the course of feeding a series of documents is shortened, and the interval between the fed documents can be reduced.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
|
