<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder for once closed encoded data even when encoding is forcibly terminated on the way of encoding a page image and capable of carrying out the succeeding encoding again from the halfway. <P>SOLUTION: The encoder for encoding data of a preset amount by a series of operations while reading a prescribed amount of data from a memory (6) is characterized in to include: storage means (3a, 3b) for storing a remaining data amount to be read from the memory for the encoding and an address of the remaining data; instruction means (202, 13) for instructing interruption of the encoding; a backup register (12) for backing up the remaining data amount and the address of the remaining data in the storage means when interruption of the encoding is instructed; and a reset means (202) for resetting the remaining data amount in the storage means after the backup, and continues the encoding until encoding of the data having been read from the memory is finished on the occurrence of the interruption of the encoding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
