PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which can effectively utilize waste ink generated by idle discharging. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording device has a large-volume main ink tank 1 for storing ink of each color, a recording head 6 for carrying out image formation to a recording medium by discharging of ink droplets, and a sub ink tank 3 for storing ink of each color. The inkjet recording device is equipped with a carriage unit 5 which moves in a direction orthogonal to a transfer direction of the recording medium. An ink collecting/returning member 7 is set for collecting each color ink due to the idle discharging, and returning the ink as a reusable ink to the main ink tank 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
