Liquid-heated metal drum for paper manufacturing process has internal mixer arm attached to central axle

A papermaking heated drum (4) has a heat-conducting metal mantle and rotates on an axle (4a) to which a mixer arm (1) is attached. The void (5) within the drum is filled or partly filled with a heat transfer liquid (2). When the drum rotates the mixer arm tip speed is zero, or differs from the drum speed of rotation. The drum is made of a metal which is a good heat conductor e.g. copper, aluminium, tungsten, special steel. The heat transfer liquid is e.g. water or oil. The mixer arm centre of gravity is eccentric to the attachment point (4a). The mixer extends close to the drum inner surface.
