<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent migration of cadmium in an alkaline secondary battery using a cadmium negative electrode for prolonging a lifetime of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for the alkaline secondary battery having the sintered cadmium negative electrode is provided with a filling process for filling the inside of a sintered base board with an active material principally consisting of cadmium hydroxide, an addition process for adding boron compound and/or a metal compound to the sintered board after the filling process, and a cross-linking process for adding a polymer compound solution to the sintered base board after the addition process and bringing the polymer compound into reaction with the boron compound and/or the metal compound for cross-linking the polymer compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
