<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress raising of temperature of an ultrasonic sensor, to prevent a paper powder from being accumulated on the sensor and to realize double feed detection with high reliability when double feed detection of a conveyed paper is carried out using the ultrasonic sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The image formation device is provided with a transmitting/receiving selection means capable of replacing an ultrasonic transmitting device with an ultrasonic receiving device or replacing the ultrasonic receiving device with the ultrasonic generation device; an S/N ratio calculation means capable of calculating the S/N ratio of an output signal of the ultrasonic receiving device before and after replaced by the transmitting/receiving selection means; and a selector set means capable of selecting the transmitting/receiving selection means according to result of the S/N ratio calculation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
