PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech recognition apparatus for a vehicle that can limit object words and phrases to be recognized without decreasing usability. SOLUTION: Various dictionary data are stored in a dictionary storage part 11 and a dictionary generation part 12 selects dictionary data to be extracted on the basis of vehicle condition such as the map display state of a navigation apparatus 2, the air-conditioning ON/OFF state of an air conditioner 3, and the mount state of audio equipment 4. The dictionary generation part 12 extracts the selected dictionary data from the dictionary storage part 11 and outputs the extracted dictionary data as a dictionary for speech recognition to a speech recognition part 13.
