PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which has holding structure capable of enhancing flexibility in design of a casing and whose manufacturing cost is reduced. SOLUTION: The projector 1 is provided with an outer case 2 as the casing and a main body part 3 to be stored in the outer case 2. Among them, in the outer case 2, side parts 11B, 11C, 12B, 12C along the projection direction of a projection optical device are formed in the shape of a curved surface and on the side parts 11B, 11C, 12B, 12C, grip parts 23B, 23C for holding the projector 1 are formed on the side of a bottom surface part 12A where a leg part for installing the projector 1 is formed.
