PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool a heat generation part of a flat display device without causing noise. SOLUTION: In the flat display device having a display panel which generates heat, coolant tubes 4 are arranged in a display panel part at proper intervals, a coolant tank 13 is connected to both ends of the coolant tubes 4 through a passage 15, and a coolant circulating pump 14 is connected on the way of the passage 15 connecting the coolant tubes 4 and the coolant tank 13 or between the coolant tank 13 and the passage 15 to circulate the coolant in the coolant tubes 4, and thus the display panel is cooled. In the case that the display panel has a backlight comprising a reflector 2 and fluorescent tubes 3, the coolant tubes 4 are arranged on the front surface and/or the rear surface of the reflector 2 along the fluorescent tubes 3.
