PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal separator in which new temperature control information is simply added without changing ROM or the like in the centrifugal separator and the optimum temperature control of a rotor is carried out based on the added temperature control information. SOLUTION: The centrifugal separator 1 is provided with an input unit 30, a controller 13, a rotor 16 connected to a motor to be driven, a cooling apparatus 14 and a re-writable storage 15. The rotor 16 is replaceable by another kind of a rotor. When a new rotor 16 is developed, the temperature control information of the rotor 16 corresponding to the new rotor 16 is input from the input unit 30 and is stored in the storage 15. The controller 13 controls the motor and a cooling unit 14 using the temperature control information so as to perform the centrifugal separation according to a desired centrifugal separation condition.
