CARRIER FOR HYDROGENATION CATALYST, HYDROGENATION CATALYST OF HYDROCARBON OIL AND HYDROGENATION METHOD USING THE HYDROGENATION CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for hydrogenation catalyst which is highly active, hardly causes the deterioration and is suitable as hydrogenation catalyst, to provide a hydrogenation catalyst utilizing the carrier which is highly active and can be obtained at a low cost and a method for efficiently manufacturing hydrocarbon oil of low sulfur content which uses the hydrogenation catalyst. SOLUTION: The carrier for hydrogenation catalyst is made by incorporating a basic oxide in a fire-resistant inorganic oxide having acidity, has a total acid amount of≥470μmol/g and has the ratio of strong acid amount and weak acid amount of≤0.37. The hydrogenation catalyst of hydrocarbon oil is made by carrying at least one kind of metal selected from metals belonging to group 6, group 8 to group 10 of the periodic table.
