PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable sure removal of small floating matter from the water surface and improvement of removal efficiency of floating matter, in a floating matter sucking and removing device for removing the floating matter on the water surface of sewage flowing slowly from the upstream side to the downstream side. SOLUTION: The floating matter sucking and removing device is provided with a suction pipe 25 that sucks floating matter 20 from a suction opening 24 at the tip end, a blower 26 that generates a suction pressure in the suction pipe 25, a storage part 27 that stores sucked floating matter 20, a discharge opening 28 that discharges the floating matter 20 stored in the storage part 27, and a weir 29 that intercepts the movement of the floating matter 20 from the upstream side to the downstream side. The weir 29 has a guide surface 52 inclining from the upstream side to the downstream side. The suction opening 24 is arranged at a position facing the most downstream part of the guide surface 52.
