PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray apparatus capable of reducing the burden of an operator in the work such as moving and instructions for operation more than necessary for the operator. SOLUTION: In the X-ray apparatus, an arm 4 supported by a body 5 in such a way that it can be displaced comprises one end for supporting an X-ray irradiation device 3 to apply X rays to a subject H, the other end for supporting a receiver 2 to receive a radiographic image formed by X rays penetrating the subject H, and a connection part connecting both ends. A lock mechanism locks the displacement of the arm 4 relative to the body 5 in such a way that the locking can be released. An operation switch 20 switches the state of displacement of the arm 4 by the lock mechanism to the locked state or to the unlocked state.
