The loose-leaf filing mechanism has angled material projections (7, 7a) alongside the hinged fixing devices (4, 5) on the long side of the carrier rails (1, 1a), affecting the hinge motion for opening or closing the mechanism by offering resistance, which can be overcome by one hand, allowing the opposite ring brackets (2, 2a) to spring open.
