A data transmission circuit includes a voltage/current conversion circuit for converting first binary voltage data of n bits (n is an integer not smaller than 2) into multinary current data of 2<n> value and outputting it to a single data transmission line. A current comparison circuit converts the multinary current data on the data transmission line into binary current data of (2<n> - 1) bits. A current/voltage conversion circuit converts the binary current data of (2<n> - 1) bits into second binary voltage data of (2<n> - 1) bits. A counting circuit restores the first binary voltage data of the n bits from the second binary voltage data of the (2<n> - 1) bits.
