FIELD: manufacture of blade type cutting tools for high-speed working. ^ SUBSTANCE: milling cutter includes housing with working portion and changeable cutting tips. One tip passes through rotation axis of milling cutter. In order to enhance strength due to reduction of dynamic loads and increase of rigidity of working portion, the last is provided with cavities for placing in them matters whose density is not equal to that of housing material. Inner surfaces of said cavities are in the form of second-order surfaces of revolution whose rotation axes cross one with other and with rotation axis of milling cutter. ^ EFFECT: increased strength and improved rigidity of working portion of milling cutter. ^ 1 dwg
