A laminated substrate or base structure comprising separately formed layers with warp knitted or stitch bonded yarns (4) joining the layers together wherein at least one of the layers is a reinforcing layer (2) and at least o ne of the layers (3) is for inhibiting resin flow through the substrate. A meth od for forming the substrate or base structure into a coated papermaker's proce ss belt product is also described.
