<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal quality monitor apparatus capable of monitoring the quality of an optical signal more simply in a short period of time at a low cost irrespective of the frame type of the optical signal. <P>SOLUTION: The optical signal quality monitor apparatus includes a optical coupler 100, a photo detector 120 for converting the optical signal into an electrical signal, a clock decision recovery unit 140 for detecting a clock from the electrical signal and recovering data, and a monitoring unit 160. The monitor unit includes a photo detector 162 which converts an optical signal into an electrical signal, an inverting amplifier 164 for inverting/amplifying the electrical signal to a predetermined level, an adder 166 for synthesizing the inverted/amplified signal with a data signal recovered in the clock decision recovery unit to obtain a signal differential value, a band-pass filter 167 for filtering the differential signal, and a radio-frequency power detector 168 for measuring radio-frequency power from the filtered result, the radio-frequency power being an error value of the optical signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
