<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallel communication control device and a control method capable of accurately transmitting a particular command such as a recovery command to a device in an error state. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes a communication interface 26 which controls transmission/reception of data to/from a printer 30 connected via a parallel channel 40, a regular command processing means 20 which monitors the parallel channel 40 and prohibits the transmission of the regular command to the printer 30 when the error state is detected, and a particular command processing means 24 which transmits a prescribed particular command to the printer 30 even if the prescribed error state, which is predefined, occurs.
