<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high cover rate by holding high correction rate in extracting simplified character information from a document. <P>SOLUTION: An inner information extracting means 102 extracts inner information by comparing inner data in a parenthesis sign in document data stored in a memory means 101 with given reference data. Then, an outer information extracting means 103 extracts outer data corresponding to the extracted inner information from the document data stored in the memory means 101, and an outer information extracting means 104 extracts outer information by comparing the extracted outer data with given reference data.
