PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication apparatus the circuit scale of which is reduced while satisfying requirements of clearance of a data collision problem and detection of a communication error. SOLUTION: A plurality of the communication apparatuses 1 are connected to communication lines S for mutual data transmission / reception, and each of the communication apparatuses 1 is provided with: a transmission error correction code circuit 31 connected to a transmission register 322 for storing transmission data and for generating a confirmation code to detect a communication error on the basis of the transmission data; and a reception error correction code circuit 33 connected to a reception register 332 for storing reception data and for generating a confirmation code on the basis of the reception data. The communication apparatus generates a random number to set a waiting time on the occurrence of collision between communication data on the basis of at least one of the confirmation codes generated by the transmission error correction code circuit 31 and the reception error correction code circuit 33.
