PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter driving device which can also be used as a diaphragm and which can detect the degree of diaphragming with a high precision by using a detection sensor arranged in the vicinity of a diaphragm blade and capable of detecting the degree of diaphragming. SOLUTION: The shutter driving device used also as a diaphragm is provided with a base member 2 which has a prescribed thickness, an aperture part 2a which is formed so as to pierce the base member 2 and has a prescribed diameter, and a light adjustment member 9 which closes the aperture part 2a or adjusts the degree of opening (diaphragms) by driving of a driving source 1. The detection sensor which is capable of detecting the degree of diaphragming of the aperture part 2a adjusted by the light adjustment member 9 and comprises a hall device 7 and a sensor magnet 8g is arranged in the vicinity of the light adjustment member 9, so that the degree of diaphragming of the aperture part 2a can be detected with high precision by detecting the amount of turning of a driving ring 8 by the detection sensor.
