摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adjust the pretilt angle of liquid crystal molecules on an alignment layer without complicating a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: A post-process to adjust the pretilt angleθp of liquid crystal molecules 50a on alignment layers 16, 22 by heat treatment or humidification treatment is carried out (S14) at least for a liquid crystal device 1 comprising a liquid crystal injected between a pair of substrates (S1 to S13). Because the adjustment of the pretilt angleθp of the liquid crystal molecules 50a is not carried out in the middle of the manufacturing process but carried out after the liquid crystal device 1 comprising the liquid crystal injected between a pair of the substrates has been manufactured, the manufacturing process is not made complex and further the adjustment corresponding to the actual pretilt angleθp can be carried out, and consequently excellent electro-optic characteristics are obtained.
