<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which realizes high image quality by electrifying a latent image carrying body by an AC system and which can suppress the deterioration due to scraping of the film on the latent image carrying body. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply used for an electrifying device 60 to uniformly electrify a photoreceptor 18Y has a function to applying an AC electrification bias containing at least an AC component on an electrifying roller driven to rotate, while the power supply used to apply a development bias on the developing sleeve 65 of the developing device 61 has a function to apply a DC development bias composed of only a DC component. Thus, the latent image carrying body is electrified by the AC system to realize high picture quality, while deterioration in the latent image carrying body due to scraping of the film can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
