ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR AND SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a case or a cover against damage at the intermediate part M of adjacent pressing parts even if the cover and the case are subjected to ultrasonic welding.

SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor 1 is provided with a cell 3 stacking a pair of active substance strips 30 and 30 impregnated with electrolyte through a separator 6 wherein the cell 3 is contained in the case 5 having an opening applied with a cover 2. The case 5 and the cover 2 are made of a synthetic resin. Opening edge part of the case 5 and the cover 2 are subjected to ultrasonic welding. A plurality of points B and B being applied with a vibration at the time of ultrasonic welding are provided on the cover 2, and a bulge 21 is formed at the intermediate part M of adjacent points B and B on the cover 2 or the opening edge part of the case 5.
