PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current type reduction gear capable of assuring a sufficient braking force while a manufacturing cost and assembly processes are reduced. SOLUTION: The eddy current type reduction gear comprises a pair of brake discs 3 and 3 connected to each other which are connected to a rotating shaft 2 for no relative rotation as an object of braking, and an electromagnet 5 which is disposed between the pair of brake discs 3 and 3 and is connected to a fixed side. The electromagnet 5 comprises an annular iron core 16 engaged with the outer periphery of the rotating shaft 2 for relative rotation, and a coil 17 wound around the outer periphery of the annular iron core 16.
